Help Spread the Word

  • Download our flyers and then post in local businesses and place of employment:
    • Race Kit - click the city you are promoting
  • Ask your employer to share our events in company newsletter.
  • Pitch your story to local newspapers, radio shows and other media outlets.
  • Get MFM events on your community calendar - online and in print.
  • Recruit local high school clubs and sports teams looking to participate in events (under 18 is discounted, under 10 is free)

Miles for Migraine Volunteer Teams

We always need volunteers. We offer training for all of our teams. You can go to individual race pages and click on VOLUNTEER or use our general volunteering button.

  • Call our past participants of our Run/Walk/Relax Events and reminds them of our upcoming event in their city
  • Call our past Education Day participants and reminds them of our upcoming event in their city
  • Call our Top Fundraisers from our Run/Walk/Relax Events to thank them for their fundraising efforts and their commitment to Miles for Migraine
  • Friendly, out-going personality, willing to speak with others (we provide a script)
  • Time commitment is approximately 1 hour per event
  • Edits any content that we receive that may go to print
  • 2020-2021: Working on the Advocacy Story project by editing stories submitting to us, and returning them for approval and then sending to print.
  • The stories are no longer than 500 words
  • Should like to edit content, proficient in English, grammar, spelling and punctuation
  • Time commitment is approximately 1 hour per story
  • Reach out to your local news stations, newspapers, radio stations about our events
  • Print out our event flyers and post in your community.
  • Post our events in Facebook Groups (ask permission first)
  • Plans events for Miles for Migraine to hold throughout the year
  • Creative minds, like to have fun, friendly and outgoing
  • Time commitment will fluctuate depending if there is an event or not
  • Share our content with others on your social media
  • Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn
  • Ask 3 friends to share, have them ask 3 friends to share and so on and so on….
  • Time commitment is minimal (15 minutes a day at most) because you are already on your own social media, so really you are just sharing our posts

These Planning Committees will be based in our Walk/Run/Relax cities. Those on the committee will have personal connections to those in their cities and will help grow our events each year. Miles for Migraine has information to help in your success on this committee. These committee members will also have the backing from Miles for Migraine staff. This is a great opportunity to gain office/school volunteer hours as well.

  • The Focus will be on:
    • Team Recruitment
    • Walker Recruitment
    • Sponsorships Recruitment
  • A minimun of  5 Planning Committee Members (mixed between)
    • Physicians in the area
    • Those with migraine and headache disease
    • Those who have connections in the local area
  • Planning Committee will hold 1 Monthly Meeting
    • Zoom Meeting – The committee chooses the time
  • There is 1 National Planning Committee Zoom Meeting
    • 3rd Tuesday of the month at 7:30pm EST
    • The committee send 1 person each month to this meeting
