Miles for Migraine Volunteer Teams

We always need volunteers. We offer training for all of our teams. You can go to individual walk/run/relax event pages and click on VOLUNTEER or use our general volunteering button.

Training is provided for all of our volunteer committees/teams. There is always a Miles for Migraine team member involved with volunteers.

These Planning Committees will be based in our Walk/Run/Relax cities. Committee members will have personal connections to those in their cities and will help grow our events each year. Miles for Migraine will provide training to help in your success on this committee. This is a great opportunity to gain office/school volunteer hours as well.

  • The Focus will be on:
    • Team recruitment
    • Walker recruitment
    • Sponsorship recruitment
  • A minimum of  5 Planning Committee Members (mixed between)
    • Providers
    • Those living with or caring for someone with migraine and headache disease
    • Those who have connections in the local area
  • Planning Committee will hold 1 Monthly Meeting
    • Meetings held via Zoom – The committee chooses the time
  • Call our past participants of our Run/Walk/Relax and/or Educational events and remind them of our upcoming event in their city
  • Call our top fundraisers, donors and team captains from our Run/Walk/Relax Events to thank them for their contributions.
  • Volunteers should be people with a friendly, out-going personality, willing to speak with others (we provide a script)
  • Time commitment is approximately 1 hour per event
  • Plans virtual social events for Miles for Migraine to hold throughout the year
    • Examples include Cooking, BINGO, Holiday Party
  • Volunteers should have a creative mind, and be friendly, collaborative & outgoing
  • In 2024 we are targeting 10 social events. We are looking for 1-2 team leads for each event.
