Hossein Ansari, MD , FAAN , FAHS
Dr. Hossein Ansari is associate professor of Neuroscience at University of California, San Diego (UCSD) and director of Headache clinic of University. He completed Neurology residency at University of West Virginia in Morgantown, WV, and fellowship in “Headache and Facial pain” in Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN. He is board certified in Neurology by American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) and in Headache medicine by United Council of Neurological Subspecialty (UCNS).
Dr. Ansari is actively involved in multiple domestic and international professional societies and serves as an advisory council member for the International Headache Society. He has is fellow of both American academy of Neurology (FAAN) and American headache society (FAHS).
Dr. Ansari has authored book chapters and Publications in Headache diagnosis and management and had multiple presentations at annual national and international conferences.
Susan L. Hutchinson, MD
Susan L. Hutchinson, MD, is board certified in Family Medicine and has a subspecialty in Headache. She is Director and Founder, Orange County Migraine & Headache Center, Irvine, California. She is also on the Volunteer Faculty Department in the Department of Family Medicine at UC-Irvine Medical Center. She concentrates on the management of migraine and mood disorders with a special interest in the relationship of both conditions to hormones. Dr. Hutchinson is a national speaker on both migraines and depression and was awarded the National Headache Foundation Lectureship Award in February 2003 in recognition of her contribution to headache education. She was selected as a Physician of Excellence by the Orange County Medical Association in January 2007. She served as Chair of the Women’s Issues Section of American Headache Society (AHS) from 2005-2010 and is President of the Headache Cooperative of the Pacific (HCOP). She is a Past-President of the Orange County Chapter of the California Academy of Family Physicians (CAFP). In recent years, she has co-authored numerous journal articles and chapters on the subject of migraine. In 2013, Dr. Hutchinson wrote and published her first book to be used as a resource for female migraine sufferers.
Dawn Buse, PhD
Dawn Buse PhD is a licensed psychologist who helps people live well with migraine, chronic pain and other chronic conditions. She also conducts research and is a co-investigator on the American Migraine Prevalence and Prevention (AMPP) Study, the Chronic Migraine Epidemiology and Outcomes (CAMEO) Study, the International Burden of Migraine (IBMS) Study, the Migraine, Symptoms and Treatment in America (MAST) Study, the OVERCOME Study and an NIH study incorporating patient input into FDA clinical trials. She is a Clinical Professor of Neurology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and an Assistant Professor in the Clinical Health Psychology Doctoral Program of Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology and was the Director of Behavioral Medicine at the Montefiore Headache Center from 2006-2018. She is a Board Member and a fellow of the American Headache Society. She has coauthored more than 150 scientific publications and 500 scientific abstracts. Michele is an Aromatherapist who is an active member in several aromatherapy associations. She teaches internationally on essential oil uses and safety as well as how to eliminate toxic products from one’s life.
She openly shares her personal struggle with chronic migraine and has become well known in the headache community. She is a Patient Advisory board member of MFM and Patient Leadership Council of the National Headache Foundation and was a former board member of American Headache and Migraine Association. For several years, she has participated in speaking to her legislators during the Headache on the Hill event in Washington DC.
