Jennifer Collins, MD

Jennifer Collins, MD

Dr. Collins is a Headache Medicine Fellow and General Neurology Physician in the Department of Neurology at the Medical College of Wisconsin and Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

She received her M.D. from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in Madison, Wisconsin, with an emphasis in rural medicine. She completed her Neurology Residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she also served as the Chief Resident of the Adult Neurology Program. Dr. Collins is the current Headache Medicine Fellow at the Medical College of Wisconsin and will be graduating in June 2024.

Jennifer Evan, MD

Jennifer Evan, MD

Dr Jennifer Evan is a board-certified Neurologist and UCNS-accredited Headache Medicine subspecialist. She completed her medical training at Indiana University School of Medicine, followed by residency in Neurology at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. She then went on to complete a fellowship in Headache Medicine and Facial Pain at the University of Colorado, after which she stayed on to join the faculty as an Assistant Professor of Neurology for three years. Her role also included working as an attending neurologist staffing the Neurology resident clinic. She now currently works at the Jesse Brown Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Chicago and practices in Northwest Indiana. She is passionate about telemedicine and tele-neurology domains to help patients access subspecialist care regardless of geographic location and commute demands. Her other clinical interests include education and teaching as well as treating vulnerable populations of patients, including headache and facial pain management in pregnancy.

Dana Ionel

Dana Ionel, D.O.

Dana Ionel is currently an assistant professor at the University of Kentucky and the Site Lead for the Lexington VA Headache Center of Excellence. She completed medical school at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, then completed a neurology residency at the University of Kentucky, where she remained for a fellowship. Her interest in headache medicine started with treating veteran patients with posttraumatic headaches and chronic migraine. Dana enjoys working together with patients to develop a treatment plan that will work best for them across all walks of life and looks forward to learning how she can better advocate for those who live with invisible illnesses.

Dr. Suraj Malhan: Advocacy in Neurology

Suraj J. Malhan, DO, MS

Dr. Suraj Malhan is a fellowship-trained neurologist specializing in headache and facial pain. He will be starting a dedicated headache center in New Jersey, where he will provide personalized care for people with migraine and headache disorders.

Dr. Malhan is passionate about teaching, advocacy, and research in headache medicine. He has delivered lectures on headache diagnosis and management, contributed to nationally and internationally presented research on real-world treatment effectiveness and patient-reported outcomes, and was honored with the American Headache Society’s Frontiers in Headache Research Award. Clinically, he has a special interest in treating cervicogenic and neck-related headache disorders, with expertise in integrating osteopathic manipulative treatment as a supportive approach to care.

Phil Maynard

Phil Maynard, MD

Dr. Philip Maynard is excited to be on the Miles for Migraine Medical Advisory Board! As a former ACT Now Fellow, he appreciated the unique opportunity to learn and work with patient advocates and looks forward to helping support and expand the programs.

Dr. Maynard grew up in New York City, where he currently lives and practices. He received his undergraduate degree from Brown University and his M.D. from New York Medical College. He completed both his neurology training and Headache Medicine Fellowship at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York.

Dr. Maynard currently works at The Montefiore Headache Center. He enjoys getting to know his patients and making an impact on their day-to-day lives. His professional interests include neurotoxins, secondary headaches, vestibular & hemiplegic migraine, and trigeminal autonomic cephalgias. At the office, he can be found sending articles to the Headache Fellows, coordinating care with doctors from other specialties, and begging his patients to take their blood pressure control and sleep apnea testing seriously.

victor wang

Victor Wang, MD

Dr Wang is a Headache specialist and board-certified neurologist at Sutter East Bay Medical Group in Berkeley, CA. He completed his residency and fellowship training at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital / Jefferson Headache Center. He served as a Chief Resident at Jefferson and received his medical and undergraduate degrees (honors with distinction, BS in Human Science with a minor in Cognitive Science) from Georgetown University. He is a current member of the American Headache Society, American Academy of Neurology, and International Headache Society. He serves on the Medical Advisory Board for Miles for Migraine and actively participates in Headache on the Hill. He has presented research at numerous national and international conferences on headache disorders.

Bill Young

William Young, MD, FAHS

Lead Medical Advisor

Dr. Young is a neurologist at the Jefferson Headache Center. He received his medical degree from Penn State College of Medicine and has been in practice for 30 years. The Jefferson Headache Center is one of a very few academic headache centers in the country. The Center, founded in 1982, specializes in the treatment of patients with all types of headache pain. Dr. Young is the President of Miles for Migraine, and former president of the Alliance for Headache Disorders Advocacy.
